Tommy Hanson an MLB pitcher of the Atlanta Braves and of the Los Angeles Angels has passed away late Monday night at the young age of 29 (1986-2015).

Multiple reports state Tommy Hanson passed away in Atlanta at a local hospital, it was said he suffered a "Catastrophic Organ Failure"

Tommy Hanson was once considered among baseball's most promising young talents, he was drafted in the 22nd round of  the 2005 draft and was a top prospect within the organization.

Hanson stood at 6'6, pitched four seasons with the Atlanta Braves, where he finished third in 2009 for NL rookie of the year balloting, but after shoulder injuries he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels and played one year for them.

In a Total of five season in the majors Tommy Hanson posted a career record of 49-35 with an ERA of 3.80, earlier this year he had signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants.

Condolences go out to the Family of Tommy Hanson and all who knew him, this is a sad day for baseball, but it has been nice to see the outpour of love and respect for this young man by Atlanta Braves president and former teammates, many of whom have expressed their deepest condolences and shared how much admiration they had for him as a person and competitor.
